What Is Neurofeedback?
Neurofeedback is a powerful tool for regulating the nervous system, with research dating back to the 1950s. It has become a cutting edge technology through the advancement of computerized systems. Over a number of sessions, the brain learns and re-discovers how to function more effortlessly.
How does it work?
The brain governs the whole body. Brainwave training affects the whole body system. Ordinarily, we are unaware of our brainwave frequencies and how they regulate our health. Through the use of Neurofeedback we can monitor this activity and utilize a ‘feedback’ process to learn how to improve our health and over-all wellbeing. Neurofeedback can teach your brain to increase beneficial frequencies, thereby enhancing multiple facets of neurological efficiency. Brainwave patterns can be reconditioned to their natural state of balance; achieving stronger, healthier and more resilient brain abilities.
Through training, the majority of people report they are sleeping better after several sessions. They often experience an increasing sense of peacefulness, a plethora or increased awareness’s or ah-ha moments, enhanced focus and concentration. The brain self-regulates and learns where it functions best. Changes are enduring!
Do you participate with insurances?
Yes, our clinic is a provider for BCBS, BCN and Priority Health. Though not all insurances provide neurofeedback as a covered benefit, many health care plans do and we can assist you with the details of your plan’s options within the services we provide. Though our clinic is a large provider for neurofeedback, we are equally strong in our psychotherapy, hypnosis, pain/health management counseling, marriage counseling, divorce and collaborative divorce services.
Do I need a referral to your office?
You are free to self-refer for services with any of our providers. Your health insurance may mandate the need for a referral from your Primary Care Provider in order to authorize coverage for services. If you need assistance with this, please contact us to help.
What ages do you work with?
We work with all age ranges. For very young children and infants, it is often best to work with a primary parent/caregiver of the child’s while the infant/toddler is held in the lap or seated near this key parent/caregiver.
